Obstetrics

Our providers have special interest in the care of pregnant women and their newborns. We all feel that the birth of a baby is a beautiful and exciting experience. You may wish to include family members or friends during your prenatal care and birth experience. In fact, family members or friends are present at almost all of our births.

Our emphasis is on personal choice and balancing your personal and medical needs during your pregnancy and birth. The Clinic and Swedish/Edmonds, formerly Stevens Hospital, offer a variety of classes in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and newborn care. To register for a Childbirth Center Tour at Swedish/Edmonds, visit our registration page or call (206) 215-3338.

When circumstances arise and your baby needs extra attention after birth, than you can be assured that you are in good hands. All of our physicians are members of the High Risk Newborn Team at the Birth Center at Swedish/Edmonds. Participation on this team requires special training and a re-certification exam every two years. With additional training Birth & Family physicians can admit newborns to Special Care Nursery and along with neonatologists (newborn specialists) attend to your baby while in the hospital.
