Well Child Check (WCC) is a preventive physical exam of an apparently healthy child. It is not an office visit when the child is ill or injured and needs to be treated. At each WCC provider monitors your baby's growth and development, reviews immunization status, and discusses what further developmental mile stones to expect. It is very important to bring your child for routine well child visits. To find out how often your baby should see a provider check out our well child visit schedule (PDF), which also lists some of the usual services that may be performed at each visit. |
Timely Protection With Accurate Vaccines
Vaccines are effective at preventing or protecting a child from certain serious diseases when they are administered correctly and on time. Washington State has created CHILD Profile Immunization Registry to ensure that every child receives all required vaccines and to improve maintenance of immunization records.
CHILD Profile is a lifetime registry. It receives information from the public portion of a child’s Washington State birth certificate, health care providers and health plans. Participating health care providers use it to:
- View a list of the immunizations a child has had, even when you move or change doctors.
- Learn which vaccines a child needs at each visit.
- Update the registry when a child is immunized.
- Print out a current record of a child’s immunizations for child care, camp, school or college.
For over a year Birth & Family Clinic has been actively updating CHILD Profile information. It is secure and HIPAA compliant. However, if you wish to withhold your child’s information from the Registry, you can talk to your child’s doctor or call the CHILD Profile at 1-800-325-5599.
As a parent or guardian, you can request a copy of your child’s immunization record or a Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) by calling our Medical Records department at 425-640-4956.
